WHAT TO DO IF
YOU’RE IN A CAR ACCIDENT


1. Stop. If you are not in a safe place, and you cannot safely move your car out of traffic, turn on your emergency flashers so that other cars will know you have a problem.

2. Check everyone for injuries. If anyone is seriously injured (unconscious or bleeding) call 911 for Fire Rescue or Police.

3. Exchange Driver License, Vehicle Information (Registration) and contact information with the other driver(s), including name of insurance company, vehicle make, model and colors, name and telephone number of driver(s) and passengers.

4. Take photos of the scene, the positions of the cars, damage to your vehicle and to the other vehicle.

5. Do not comment about the accident. Do not admit liability or discuss the accident. Do not reveal your insurance limits to the driver or passengers of the other vehicle.

6. Speak to any witnesses and write down their contact information.
